In 2020 I had a traumatic birth experience that left me disappointed and fearful. So when I became pregnant the 2nd time around, I knew I wanted to reclaim my birth story. 

Celina helped me do that and much more! From our first zoom meeting, I felt a connection - Celina was so easy to talk to, and she was an amazing listener. I never felt rushed through any of our meetings and she was always available, checking in, and answering all of my questions. She made sure to get me thinking about EVERYTHING - birth plan, partner support, postpartum…and she was so thorough that for the first time, I actually felt mentally prepared for birth, and was looking forward to it!! Along the way she managed to also help me improve communication with my husband, to also feel like I had his full support as well, something I felt was missing the first time around.

Most importantly, having Celina there during labor meant I was able to actually give birth in the delivery room and not on the triage floor. The hospital was so busy, and I felt abandoned by the nurses and midwife on call, but once Celina got there and noticed how far along I was, she got things moving and everyone sprang into action. Without Celina, I am sure I would not have been able to reflect positively on the whole experience. She was absolutely instrumental in helping me achieve the empowering birth experience that I wanted and also to approach postpartum with a positive outlook. 

I am so glad I met Celina, and she will always be a part of this amazing chapter in our lives!

Having Celina at my birth was like having a lifelong friend there to support me during the most challenging and beautiful moment of my entire life. She basically did all the things I wish my partner could’ve done, except he wasn’t a trained doula, no matter how many coping techniques we ran through during the months leading up to birth. Celina is a complete natural and her intuition is so powerful, she knew exactly what I needed to help me work through the most demanding hours of childbirth. She’s truly a source of light with her genuine positivity and upbeat personality, I felt completely safe knowing she was in the room with me. And for my experience that holds significant weight considering the midwife didn't make it to the homebirth. She provided me with an abundance of information and resources that I felt confident and ready for birth. So much so, that when she delivered my baby, and we saw he had the umbilical cord wrapped around his neck 2x, I wasn’t afraid. Together we gracefully unraveled the cord and out came the most beautiful cough of life. I wasn’t afraid because Celina had sent me a video weeks prior, of a woman calmly performing the same act. Choosing Celina to be your doula is like adding two precious members to your family - your baby and your doula. I couldn’t recommend her more. She’s got everything you’d ever want from a doula and more. 

We stopped our search for a doula after the first person we met: Celina! She brought tears to our eyes with her descriptions of the birthing journey and how it can bring partners even closer together. This is exactly how our journey with Celina played out. She patiently educated us on the process, taught us valuable information, and helped us feel prepared. Beyond that, she took her time to really get to know us and her human investment really came through during our birth experience. She was able to reassure us of our skills, support us, and advocate for us at the hospital. When our beautiful daughter arrived, Celina was crying with excitement along with us, as part of the family. There are people you come across for whom it is clear that they are not working, they are living out their life's mission--and Celina's amazing gift is to be a warm, wise, and steadying presence as babies arrive into the world. 

When we were looking for a doula we were on the fence if we really needed one, but me and my husband are both so happy we found Celina and had her join our birth team. From the beginning she was so easy to communicate with and so knowledgeable and passionate about helping families bring their little ones into the world. The prenatal meetings were great to prep us what to expect and how to be a team and the importance of our connection for labor to be a positive experience. I was in early labor for a long time, while laboring at home Celina was always available for support and guided us through it. At the hospital she was a rockstar, came in and set a relaxing atmosphere, strongly advocated for us and our choices (the doctor was too pushy with suggestions for interventions to expedite labor, pitocin, breaking the waters, etc. that we had made clear we wanted to avoid unless medically necessary). Most importantly she gave the tools and support to my husband to be the best partner during the whole process and after birth as well. I can’t imagine how different our experience would have been without Celina there. She will always have a special place in our hearts.

Celina is a truly gifted doula. I am so grateful I got to have her as part of my birth team and have only amazing things to say about her. She provided fantastic support through our prenatal home visits and as questions came up throughout my pregnancy, and was invaluable in talking through with me my decision about whether an induction was the right choice for me when my pregnancy went past my due date. She was a calming presence and an empowering cheerleader during my labor and delivery and followed up with postpartum and lactation support and guidance. Celina is the best and I would so highly recommend working with her! 

In searching for a birth doula, I knew it was important to have someone that I felt a connection with, not just someone with great experience. When my wife and I met Celina, she had both and more. As queer women, it was very important for us to have someone on our birth team that understood our experiences as queer women. Providers can label themselves as “LGBTQ friendly” but it’s a completely different experience working with someone who is also an out queer person. My wife and I felt an immediate connection with Celina and we had many shared values and beliefs. I began working with Celina very early in my pregnancy and she would constantly send me resources and information on pregnancy and birth. This was super helpful as a first time parent because everything was new to me. I experienced a long early labor and Celina guided my wife and I through the whole thing. We arrived at the hospital at 2pm on a Thursday and Celina joined us on Friday morning. I was very uncomfortable and my labor was progressing slowly. Celina immediately jumped in to help by massaging me, helping me move around, and talking and laughing with my wife and I. Ultimately, my midwife and the hospital staff advised me that we should move to a C-section because my labor had stopped progressing. It was not an emergency so the decision was left to my wife and I. I was devastated and Celina knew that a C-section was not what I wanted so she sat with me while I cried and processed the news. She validated my disappointment and praised me for how hard I had worked up until that point. She provided such incredible support to both my wife and I during such a vulnerable moment in our lives and I can’t fully begin to explain how meaningful that was. We met Celina as our birth doula but we have gained an incredible friend. I am forever grateful that our souls connected for my daughter’s birth and Celina is one of the main reasons I look back on her birth and feel immense joy and pride. 

Celina was the absolute best choice my husband and I could have made for our son’s birth. From the very first call, Celina made us feel safe, supported, and taken care of. Celina is a true advocate for her clients as well as an educator. My husband and I not only knew we had someone in our corner but also felt empowered to advocate for what we wanted throughout prenatal appointments and the birth in the hospital, and as first time parents we could have asked for anything more. I truly can’t recommend Celina highly enough.

Celina is an angel. Without her guidance and support, I would have had a traumatic birth experience. My birth did not go according to plan, but it was still beautiful because Celina was with me every step of the way.

Celina was an absolute delight and made such a huge difference in my birth experience for not only me but also my husband. I really can't overstate how wonderful Celina is and how much I would recommend her to any expectant family. Celina is an exceptional doula!! During our pre-meetings, Celina took the time to help us get prepared and empowered in our ability to make informed decisions. She never made us feel rushed (if anything we would talk for ages!), prepped us for each new stage, and really helped build my husband and my confidence as a team preparing for this big new future. Throughout my pregnancy, Celina shared resources, fielded questions, provided tips, and always went above and beyond. While she gave me the attention I needed, she also made sure that my husband was included and supported in his role throughout. When she arrived at the hospital, she completely shifted the mood which helped to manage the pain and when things went awry, she helped me to advocate with the nurses and doctors to ensure my care decisions were honored. She really became a part of our family and I couldn't be more grateful to have her support during the most transformative moment in my life.
